Install Vellure

Vellure comes as a ZIP file. You upload it to your store, set it up while customers still see your current theme, and publish it when it's ready.

Upload it

1. In the Shopify admin, go to Online Store.
2. In the Draft themes section, click Import theme, then Upload zip file.
3. Click Choose File, pick the Vellure ZIP file, and click Upload. Don't unzip it first: Shopify takes the ZIP as it is.
4. Vellure appears under Draft themes. Your current theme stays live, and customers see no change.
5. Click Edit theme on Vellure to open it in the theme editor and try it with your products.

Publish it

Once Vellure is set up, click Publish on it. Your previous theme moves to Draft themes, with nothing lost, so you can switch back at any time.

A copy of Vellure is for one store. If you also run another store, it needs its own copy.

Tip

Set Vellure up completely while it is still a draft: your logo, colors, menus and home page. Then publish it once it is ready, so customers never see a half-finished store.

Keep a backup

Before a big change, make a copy of the theme: in Online Store, open Vellure's ⋯ menu and choose Duplicate. The copy appears under Draft themes, and you can go back to it if you change your mind. Keep the ZIP file you downloaded as well.
